Golf: Teeple PSUAC Champion as Wildcats Place 2nd in PSUAC/9th in USCAA

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - The Pennsylvania College of Technology golf team competed at the Uniited States Collegiate Athletic Association and Penn State University Athletic Conference Championships Monday and Tuesday held at the Penn State Blue Course in State College. Junior Corey Teeple (Lake Ariel) topped the PSUAC field shooting a 73 and 82 on the par 72 course. His scores placed him 16th in the USCAA. As a team, the Wildcats took second just behind Penn State DuBois in the conference and were ninth overall. Daemon College earned to spot in the USCAA.

 

Penn College had a strong first day with Teeple tied for the lead over the entire field and the team with an 11 stroke lead over DuBois.

 

Also placing in the top ten of the PSUAC and earning All-Conference honors with Teeple were senior Alex Howe (Lake Ariel) with an 85 and 86 and sophomore Calvin Foust (Palmyra) with an 84 and 83.

 

At the awards banquet held after the tournament sophomore Bryce Petersheim (Birdsboro) was named to the USCAA All-Academic Team. The team is comprised of golfers with a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average or higher.
