Golf: Wildcats Win Third Straight Invitational

HAZLETON, Pa. - The Pennsylvania College of Technology golf team won its third straight match Monday at the Penn State Hazleton invitational. The Wildcats totaled 346 team points beating out conference rival Penn State Mont Alto who came in second with 351. Eight teams and 39 golfers attended the event held at Hazleton Valley Country Club. Junior Alex Howe (Lake Ariel) hit an 83 on the par 71 course to lead Penn College and place third among all competitors.

Also for the Wildcats, freshman Jesse Newman (Waterfall) shot an 86 with freshman Zachary Frazier (Fort Worth, Texas) right behing with an 87. Rounding out the team was freshman Brian MacPherson (Salem, N.H.), sophomore Nicolas Krupka (Allentown) and freshman Bryce Petersheim (Birdsboro) who finished the day hitting 90, 96 and 98 respectively.

Penn College will next travel to State College for the United States Collegiate Athletic Association and Penn State University Athletic Conference Championships on Monday, Oct. 8.
