Men's Basketball wins first PSUAC game of the season

New Kensington, PA- Penn State Beaver men's basketball wins over Penn State New Kensington in their first PSUAC game of the season.

The Lions of Beaver opened their conference schedule last night in commanding fashion. With the starting 5 playing the majority of the minutes, Beaver took a comfortable 14 point lead into half time.

In the second half Beaver continued to dominate the scoring and outscored New Kensington in the half by 8 points making the final score of the game 100-78 giving Beaver their first 100-point game of the year.

Leading the team in minutes was Nick Miller (Beaver Falls, PA/Beaver Falls) who had 25 points in the game, but it was Rob Agurs (Pittsburgh, PA/Penn Hills) who led the teams scoring and rebounding efforts with 26 points and 10 rebounds, giving him a double-double.

Beaver is now 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the PSUAC. They will return to action this weekend as they make their crossover trip out east to face Schuykill Friday night and Brandywine Saturday afternoon in two crucial PSUAC match-ups.
