Men’s Basketball: Wildcats Struggle with Turnovers in Loss to Central Penn

 

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. –Sophomores Jesse Newman (Waterfall) and Scott Fenton (Dickson City) each scored 18 points but the Pennsylvania College of Technology men's basketball team lost 94-80 to Central Penn College Monday. The Wildcats struggled to control the ball turning it over 30 times in the game. Freshman Christopher Carrington (Ridley Park) added 12 points while sophomore Jason Greenfield (Wellsboro) scored 11. The loss drops the team to 3-14 overall. 

 

The first six minutes of the game saw seven lead changes and two ties. Central Penn took the lead off a jumper from Lamar Drayton at 14:02 and held the lead for the remainder of the half leading as high as 15.

 

The Knights dominated the second half never relinquishing the lead. Carrington hit a layup at just over the 12 minute mark to get Penn College as close as nine.

 

As a team, the Wildcats totaled 49 rebounds and shot .464 (32-69) from the field. Sophomore Nicholas DeLeon had a solid game with six assists.

 

Next up, Penn College hosts Penn State Brandywine on Thursday, Jan. 24 for an 8 p.m. game.
