Late Jumper Dashes Men's Basketball's Comeback Hopes

Williamsport, Pa- A furious second half run from Greater Allegheny tied the game with just 1:08 remaining, before a Penn College jumper with under 10 seconds on the clock gave the Wildcats a 57-55 win.

Down 14 at the half, Greater Allegheny (5-9, 2-5 PSUAC) rallied by opening with a 21-6 run, capped off by a three-pointer from forward Petrie Addison (Fort Myers, FL). Junior forward Nick Dizon (Rankin, PA) followed with a three of his own, giving GA a 41-38 advantage.

GA quickly found themselves back down by eight, but a 12-2 scoring burst gave them a late lead, at 53-51. Freshman guard Eric Cottman's (Philadelphia, PA) two free-throws would later tie the game at 55, before giving way to Penn College's late jumper.

Addison continued to produce on offense, scoring 18 points off the bench. Cottman added 13 points and seven assists, while junior forward Aaron Byrd (Upper Malboro, MD) scored 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds.

The Greater Allegheny men will look to get back on track this Wednesday, January 16 when they travel to Penn State Fayette for an 8 PM, PSUAC contest.
