Beaver falls to Grove City

Grove City, PA--- On Thursday evening, Penn State Beaver traveled to Grove City College and fell by a score of 68-64, snapping their 8 game winning streak. Beaver fell behind in the first half and trailed by 12 as the game entered halftime. Beaver played much better in the second half, winning the second 20 minutes 39-31, but ultimately that would not be enough as Beaver fell by 4 in the non-conference matchup. In the game, Grove City outrebounded Beaver 42-33 and shot 45% percent from the field compared to Beaver's 34%.

Rob Agurs (Pittsburgh, Penn Hills) had one of his best overall performances of the season, scoring 23 points and grabbing 10 rebounds to get the double-double. Agurs also dished out 4 assists and had 4 steals. Nick Miller (Beaver Falls, Beaver Falls) finished with 15 points to go along with 5 rebounds. Julian Taylor (Rochester, Rochester) added 9 points and Mike Martin (Dublin OH, Dublin Jerome) scored 7 points for Beaver in the loss.

Despite the loss, Beaver has went 8-2 in the last 10 contests and now stands at 10-3 overall and 7-0 in the PSUAC. Beaver will not play again til next Friday, January 11th, when they travel to PSU Hazelton to play at 8pm.
