York, PA- The Men of Penn State Beaver (16-4, 12-1 PSUAC) played on the road this afternoon against a very good Penn State York (York, PA) team.

The game started out back-and-forth, with three ties and lead changes within the first ten minutes. Tony Houghton (Perry/Pittsburgh, PA) hit a three pointer that gave Beaver their biggest lead of the half of eight. But York quickly responded with Beaver trailing at the half 34-31.

York came out strong in the second half, and Beaver saw themselves trailing 41-33. The men of Beaver picked up their momentum with just under ten minutes left in the game however to take a 56-55 lead. York began to panic as Beaver took advantage by going on a 12-6 run. Despite a late comeback in the last two minutes of the game, Darius Prince (West Mifflin/Pittsburgh, PA) hit two very important free throws at the end of the game as Beaver went on to win 84-75.

For the afternoon, Prince lead the team with 23 points followed by Nick Miller (Beaver Falls/Beaver Falls, PA) with 16, and Chris Weathers (New Brighton/New Brighton, PA) with 14. Beaver shot 54.4% from the field, 40% from three point range, and 72.6% from the free throw line.

Beaver hits the road again on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 8pm against PSUAC rival Penn State DuBois (DuBois, PA).
