Beaver takes two against Scranton

Monaca, PA---- Penn State Beaver baseball hosted PSU Scranton on Saturday afternoon and won by scores of 15-0 and 16-2 as both games were completed in five innings. In game one, Vincent Beatty (Rochester, Rochester) and Steven Galamarini (New Castle, Union) combined for the shutout and Beaver collected 14 hits in the game. Both Alex Filippi (Aliquippa, Center) and Tom Lewis (Aliquippa, Hopewell) had 3 RBI and Lewis had 2 doubles. Grant Scott (Sewickley, Ann Arbor Pioneer), Markus Allen (New Castle, Union) and Jim Musgrave each drove in 2 runs.

In game two, Beaver finished with 14 hits once again as Filippi had three hits and Allen, Scott and Jordan Price (Conway, Freedom) each had two hits. Price and Scott drove in 2 runs while Mike Karas (Imperial, West Allegheny) also had 2 RBI.

Beaver improves to 8-7 in the PSUAC and will play again tomorrow afternoon when they host PSU Hazelton with a doubleheader scheduled to start at 12 noon.
