Lions lose twice on Thursday

Vero Beach, FL---- On the fourth day of their spring trip to Vero Beach, Florida, Penn State Beaver lost twice by scores of 11-1 against Rochester College and 3-1 to Patriotes Baseball Club. In the first game of the day, Beaver fell behind Rochester College 3-0 after the first inning and was unable to come back as the final was 11-1. Beaver was able to get on the scoreboard in the final inning of play after a Grant Scott (Sewickley, Ann Arbor Pioneer) double scored Alex Filippi (Aliquippa, Center). Filippi finished the game with 2 hits as Beaver was only able to manage 4 hits in the contest.

In the second game of the day, Beaver once again only had 4 hits as they fell to Patriotes Baseball Club. Steven Galmarini (New Castle, Union) pitched a solid 5 innings, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits. Both Bill Harrington (Monaca, Central Valley) and Tyler Schuster (Beaver Falls, Beaver Falls) had a double and in the 3rd inning, a Jordan Price (Conway, Freedom) single scored Rob Trhlin (Chesterland OH, West Geauga) for Beaver's only run of the contest.
