Beaver falls in playoff opener

In the first game of the PSUAC conference playoffs, Penn State Beaver fell to Mont Alto by a score of 4-1.

The starting pitcher for Beaver was Tyler Schuster (Beaver Falls, Beaver Falls High School) who went five and one-third innings, giving up two earned runs on two hits and striking out eight. The Beaver bats were held to only seven hits in the game, including two from both Mike Karas (Imperial, West Allegheny) and Garrett Covalt (Aliquippa, Hopewell). A Karas double plated Covalt for the lone run for Beaver.

Beaver will be back in action on Friday, when they play Penn College at 11 am at Pullman Park in Butler.
