Schuylkill splits doubleheader with Penn College

 

The Lions came into the doubleheader undefeated and suffered their first loss of the season 3-2 in game one. The Lady Lions rebounded defeating Penn College 6-0 in game two with pitcher Bryanna Snowell recording a one-hitter with eight strikeouts.

In game one, Schuylkill  jumped out to a 2-0 lead off a two-RBI triple from Katie Fehr (Senior/Schuylkill Haven). In the bottom of the inning, Penn College would get one back. Penn College would score 2 in bottom of the 6th and held on for the win. Schuylkill's, Bryanna Snowell (Freshman/Pottsville) finished the game allowing three earned runs and striking out 11.

Snowell bounced back in game two shutting down the Wildcat offense. She helped her cause in the first hitting an RBI single. After two scoreless, the Lions added two more in the fourth, helped by three errors in the field. Two more runs in the fifth and one in the seventh ended the game 6-0 in their favor. Schuylkill's offensive attack was led by Damah Conteh (Freshman/Woodrow Wilson) who went 5-7 on the day.
