HAZLETON, Pa. – The Penn State Brandywine women's basketball team forced 39 turnovers and cruised to an 80-51 victory at Penn State Hazleton on Saturday afternoon.

Amanda Floyd (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) notched team-highs with 17 points, 12 rebounds and five steals, while Athena Brombacher (Vacaville, Calif./Will C. Wood) also registered a double-double, tallying 13 points and 10 boards.

Despite collecting 16 Hazleton turnovers during the first 10 minutes, Brandywine led by just three through one quarter, but the Lions busted the game open in the second, outscoring Hazleton 28-10.

Aided by a combined 10 points from Koger and Floyd, Brandywine opened the second period with a 12-2 run to push the margin to double figures. The hosts closed the deficit to nine, but Brandywine answered with 12 of the final 14 points, capped by back-to-back baskets from Diawara, and brought a 46-25 edge into halftime.

Hazleton never threatened during the final 20 minutes. Brandywine's lead grew to as many as 33 points late in the fourth quarter.

Brandywine (8-9, 7-5 PSUAC) is back at home Monday for its last non-conference game of the year when the Lions host Central Penn at 7:00 PM.
