The Penn State Shenango Women's Basketball team won their first playoff game since their return to campus in 2021-22 with a 78-64 win over Penn State Mont Alto on Monday night.
Mont Alto, playing with just five players, couldn't withstand the pressure put on them by Shenango, trailing 37-22 at the half. Coming out of the break, Mont Alto created more offense, making it a 10-point game on a few different occasions, but could never get within an arms' length of Shenango.
The home squad was led by a huge scoring output from Shar'Da Williamson who notched 26 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for another double-double. Hailee Aguinaga had another big night in the paint, nearly nabbing a double-double of her own, scoring 17 points and 9 rebounds.
The ladies will travel to Penn State Lehigh Valley on Wednesday, February 28th, at 6:00 PM for the semifinal matchup.
