Vero Beach, FL--- Penn State Beaver wrapped up their spring trip to Florida by losing to WVU Tech by a score of 5-1. Beaver led 1-0 through four innings, but WVU Tech answered by scoring 5 in the 5th inning to win the contest. Beaver got on the board in the first inning when Alex Filippi (Aliquippa, Center) singled and eventually advanced to third when Markus Allen (New Castle, Union) had a RBI sacrifice fly to score Filippi. Cory Wagner (Monaca, Center) got the start for Beaver and went 4 and 2/3 innings giving up 4 runs on 6 hits. Beaver had 4 hits in the contest and finished their trip to Florida with a 2-6 record.
Beaver will not play again until March 17th, when they host Ohio Midwestern with first pitch at 12pm.
