Brandywine Wins Final Home Match; Records Seventh-Straight Shutout Victory

MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine men's soccer team closed out the home portion of its schedule by recording its seventh-straight clean sheet and its 10th-straight triumph overall, topping Penn State Scranton 7-0 on Tuesday afternoon.

With the victory, Brandywine clinched a top-two seed in the PSUAC Tournament, earning a bye through the quarterfinal round. The Lions will host a conference tournament semifinal match on Saturday, November 4.

Mikey Dunham (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey) and Omar Simpson (Bear, Del./Christiana) both tallied a pair of goals, while Raymond Kelly (Middletown, Del./Middletown) collected a goal and three assists and Kyle Reuter (York, Pa./Dallastown) produced two helpers.

Kelly scored off a Reuter corner kick for the first of three goals for the Lions during the opening half. Chris Manful (Baltimore, Md./Woodlawn) found the back of the net after corraling a loose rebound and Dunham made the count 3-0 with a goal at the 37:17 mark.

Simpson registered a pair of markers during a four-minute span, upping the lead to 5-0, while Peter Glass (Mohnton, Pa./Governor Mifflin) netted his first-career goal in the 78th minute. Kelly linked up with Dunham for the final tally of the day at the 84:09 mark.

Brandywine outshot Scranton 43-1 and put 25 shots on target. Will Manarpaac's (Boerne, Texas/Samuel V. Champion) lone action of the day in net came on a penalty kick as he stopped Raphael Carvalho's attempt during the 88th minute.

Brandywine (14-3-2, 6-0-1 PSUAC) closes out the regular season Saturday at Penn State Mont Alto at 3:00 PM.
