Lady Lions win First Playoff Game

Monaca, PA- The Lady Lions take on Penn State Dubois in a head to head PSUAC Conference match up on  their home court for Round 1 of the playoffs. The Lady Lions continue their streak of winning 20 in a row and finishing their regular season record of 20-6. They plan to continue their win streak Conference play today. Defeating Penn State Dubois 80-45.

To start the game, Fourth year, Caitlyn O'Hara (Norco, CA) won tip-off gaining possesion for beaver. Dubois scored first, but following up, Second year, Makitah Logan (Pittsburgh, PA) scored the first three of the game assisted by, First year, Emery Black (New Braunfels, TX). After setting up their press break, Second Year, Daniela Guzman (Plainview,TX) set the tone on defense by getting a steal on defense. First year, Emery Black (New Braunfels) went to rim strong with her right hand and got fouled hard by the Dubois center. First year, Emery Black (New Braunfels) had a great first quarter and finished with 8 first quarter points. Ending the First quarter the score was 10-17 Beaver. Starting the second quarter, the defense for beaver started to ramp up. Second year, Makitah Logan (Pittsburgh, PA) started off wiith a steal which led to a made layup by First Year, Emery Black (New Braunfels, TX). First year, Taylor Woodruff (Pittsburgh, PA) made a huge layup to put Beaver up 23-10. First year, Claudia Siegfried (Wilkes-Barre, PA) made a huge three-pointer to get the bench really hyped during the secind quarter. During the second period, the game was going backand forth and was close going into halftime 39-25 Beaver. 

To start the Third quarter, Penn State Beaver's first year guard, Claudia Siegfried (Wilkes-Barre, PA) started the half off with a three-pointer. On the very next possesion, First year, Emery Black (New Braunfels, TX) made a layup and just like that they went on a lttle run to continue bring beaver up 44-27. First year, Claudia Segfried (Wilkes-Barre, PA) made another mid-range shot. Penn State beaver is starting to feel it and playing with such great pace. Secind Year, Daniela Guzman (Plainview, TX) hit a three-pointer and the bench was fired up while ending the third quarter. At the start of the fourth quarter, Secind year, Makitah Logan (Pitssburgh, PA) hit a thrr-pointer to put Beaver up by 29! The score was 68-39. Beaver was rolling and could see a victoy in the near future. Penn State Beaver defeated Dubois 81-45 in a dominating win!

Player of the Game First year, Emery Black (Pittsburgh,PA) finished with26 points, 4 steals, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds. It was another big win tonight for Penn State Beaver Lady Lions. First year, Claudia Siegfried (Wilkes-Barre, PA) finsihed with 16 points, 2 steals, and 2 rebounds. Taylor Woodruff came off the bench and finsihed with 14 points, 3 steals, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds.
