Fayette takes two losses at home

Lemont Furnace, PA- Fayette women's basketball had a tough start to PSUAC Conference play this weekend taking on two of the conference's top dogs from the jump. Fayette first played Lehigh Valley on Friday night. Lehigh Valley has been a powerhouse in the conference with Coach of the Year, Laurie Khalil at the helm. In the first quarter Fayette held their own, keeping it at 21-21, but Lehigh Valley ran away with the second quarter out scoring Fayette 35-14. Despite Fayette's ability to catch up in the third and fourth quarter, Lehigh Valley was too far ahead. The final score was 94-68, Lehigh Valley.

Fayette turned to Brandywine for Saturday's matchup and showed some improvement. Fayette kept Brandywine within 10 each quarter. However, the turnovers took over the game, making it hard for Fayette to Lee up. Fayette racked up 33 turnover throughout the game, 26 being in the first half. Despite Fayette's best effort to comeback in the fourth quarter, Brandywine took the game 71-52.

Coach Hillen spoke on the games, "Last night we played hard and just self destructed with mistakes.  Today we just made too many mistakes early on and dug ourself to deep a hole."

Heaven Grum lead both days for Fayette with a total of 35 points over both games, most of which were three pointers.

Fayette will have one more game before Thanksgiving break at home on Monday night at 6:00 P.M.
