In a captivating clash of collegiate basketball talent, Penn State New Kensington secured a hard-fought triumph over Penn State Greater Allegheny in an electrifying contest on Tuesday, Feb. 6th.

The game commenced with Greater Allegheny seizing an early lead, but New Kensington quickly rallied, courtesy of key assists from Destiny Batiste representing Thibodaux, LA, and Tori Johnson hailing from New Kensington, PA.

Despite a series of deadlocks, Greater Allegheny clinched a slight advantage, edging ahead by four points at the conclusion of the first quarter. However, New Kensington's cohesive teamwork proved pivotal, propelling them to a 31-26 lead as they entered halftime.

Throughout the intense battle, New Kensington's collective effort ensured they maintained a narrow edge on the scoreboard, while Greater Allegheny matched them stride for stride. With both teams refusing to relent, the second half concluded with an intense tie at 63 points apiece.

Speaking of the team's unity, Jayde Rivera, New Kensington's point guard and safeguard, emphasized, "We played as a team which I feel like is what really matters."

In a dramatic turn of events, Destiny Batiste was fouled with a mere 0.3 seconds remaining in regulation play. Showing nerves of steel, Batiste calmly sank all three foul shots, propelling Penn State New Kensington into an exhilarating overtime period.

As the game entered overtime, both teams showcased unwavering determination in their quest for victory. Yet, it was PSNK's Esther Cole from Brooklyn, NY, alongside Jada Norman of New Kensington, PA, who rose to the occasion, delivering the decisive blows that sealed the win for their team.

In a thrilling culmination, Penn State New Kensington emerged triumphant with a final score of 75-68 over Penn State Greater Allegheny, a testament to their resilience and unwavering support for one another.
