MEDIA, Pa. -- Rosemont College scored twice during the final nine minutes of regulation to hand the Penn State Brandywine women's soccer team its first defeat of the season by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday evening.
Rosemont overcame a standout performance in net by Kiiani Banks (Elizabeth, N.J./Elizabeth), who is a two-time PSUAC Goalkeeper of the Week already this fall. Banks stopped 14 shots overall, including nine during the second half.
Banks turned away Breanna Orosz on a point-blank scoring opportunity during the 75th minute to preserve a 1-0 Brandywine lead, but the Ravens finally broke through at the 81:04 mark as Madison Boltersdorf found the back of the net with the game-tying goal.
Just 1:16 later, Rosemont took the lead when Carly Camut netted a tally off a corner kick. Brandywine put two shots on net during the final five minutes, but was unable to get back even.
The Lions had taken a 1-0 lead when Jolyn Walleekendeh (Trainer, Pa./Chichester) collected her team-leading seventh goal of the year at the 65:35 mark. The teams played to a scoreless first half thanks to five saves from Banks.
Brandywine (2-1) returns home Saturday to host Widener at noon.
