Brandywine Falls 1-0 At Gwynedd Mercy

GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pennsylvania -- Gwynedd Mercy scored the only goal of the game early in the first half and held off Penn State Brandywine for a 1-0 victory in nonconference men's soccer action on Monday afternoon.

The Griffins' Seth Lindner netted an unassisted goal at the 11:57 mark of the opening stanza which proved to be the game winner.

Brandywine had opportunities to even the score, posting five shots on goal, but Gwynedd Mercy goalkeeper Greg Gengaro stopped each attempt.

Lions' net minder Pat O'Neill (Morton, Pa./Ridley) blocked five of the six shots he faced, while Pat Lutes (Drexel Hill, Pa./Monsignor Bonner) recorded two of Brandywine's five shots.

Brandywine (2-5, 1-1 PSUAC) continues its three-game road trip Tuesday night at Delaware Valley (7:00 pm).
