Women's Volleyball Finishes 0-2 At York Tri-Match

YORK, Pa. – Penn State Schuylkill Women's Volleyball dropped both of their games at York College of PA on Saturday.

Arcadia 3, Penn State Schuylkill 0

Arcadia got off to a hot start during the first set, going on an 11-0 run and ultimately securing a 25-6 victory. Arcadia maintained control during the second set, going on an 8-0 run after a kill from Sydney Morton (Norfolk, VA / Gateway Christian Academy) assisted by Ava Seltzer (Schuylkill Haven, PA / Schuylkill Haven) securing an 18-4 lead. Schuylkill showcased resilience with a late set push, earning three consecutive points, highlighted by a kill from Tajae Stevenson (Paterson, NJ / John F. Kennedy).

The second set saw Arcadia extending their lead with a 5-1 run, ultimately claiming victory. However, Schuylkill came back strong in the third set, taking an early 10-3 lead, highlighted by two kills from Stevenson. Arcadia mounted a comeback with a 13-1 run, securing an 18-12 advantage. Schuylkill fought hard to narrow the gap to four points, but Arcadia closed out the set 25-20, ultimately winning the match.

York 3, Penn State Schuylkill 0

With both teams going back and forth early in the first set, Morton's kill leveled the score at 9-9, but York took control of the set with a 13-0 run, ultimately securing the first set victory. York maintained their lead throughout the second set, extending it to as many as nine points before concluding the set with an 8-0 run.

With Schuylkill trailing 8-7 during the third set, York gained separation by going on a decisive 10-1 run. York went on to close out the match in three sets.

Schuylkill (6-12 overall, 3-6 PSUAC) will compete in their final home contest of the regular season Monday, October 16th as they host PSUAC opponent Penn State Scranton. Start time for that contest is 6:00 p.m.
