Yellow Jackets sting Lions

The Penn State Shenango Women's Volleyball team lost their home match to Waynesburg University on Thursday night at the Buhl Club, in straight sets.

The first set was mostly controlled by the Yellow Jackets as they jumped out to an 11-3 lead, before finishing the set 25-10. Shenango kept the early part of the second set close before Waynesburg went on a run, closing the set 25-17. The third and final set saw Shenango jump out to an early lead before the Yellow Jackets came roaring back, finishing the match with a 25-16 winner.

Shenango was led by Kylee Loreno and Alyssa Donley who recorded 4 kills each. Kiara Varion recorded a match high of 11 assists in the loss. Emma Hyatt and Paige Mortimore led the Yellow Jackets with 5 kills each, while Kendall Ellsworth tallied 9 assists.

The Shenango Lady Lions are back in action Monday, September 11th against Lorain County Community College at the Buhl Club.
