Women's Basketball Victorious Over Penn State Scranton

DUNMORE, Pa. – Penn State Schuylkill defeated PSUAC opponent Penn State Scranton on Tuesday, securing their second blowout victory in two days.  

With Scranton heading into the second period with a 15-12 advantage, Schuylkill scored eight unanswered points to take a 20-15 lead with 6:23 remaining in the second. Following a Scranton basket that narrowed their deficit to three points, Schuylkill went on a 15-4 run to close out the half, entering the third with a double-digit advantage.

Schuylkill continued their hot streak during the third period as they extended their lead to 20 points following a three-point basket by Allison Crockett (Liverpool, PA / Greenwood High School) at the 4:02 mark. Schuylkill led by as many as 35 points during the contest, with their defense holding Scranton to just 20 percent shooting on the night.

Ava Novak (Numidia, PA / Southern Columbia High School) notched game-highs in points (17) and rebounds (12). Also securing 12 rebounds was Jasmine Wright (Sicklerville, NJ / Winslow Township High School) who added 14 points. Crockett scored 14 points going 4-6 from deep. Norma Thornhill (Washington D.C. / Eleanor Roosevelt High School) dropped 14 points off the bench.

Schuylkill (9-11 overall, 5-6 PSUAC) will host USCAA opponent Central Penn College on Thursday, January 24th. Tip off is set for 7:00 p.m.
