ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Penn State Brandywine women's basketball team was dealt a 75-60 defeat at Penn State Lehigh Valley on Saturday night during its final game of the fall semester.
The Lions were paced in the scoring column by Sierra Diawara (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro), who poured in 27 points. Diawara shot 11-of-18 from the field and canned five three-pointers, while pulling down a team-high eight rebounds.
Athena Brombacher (Vacaville, Calif./Will C. Wood) added 13 points, seven rebounds and a game-best seven steals, while Amanda Floyd (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) contributed seven points and seven boards.
Lehigh Valley led 39-29 at the half, but Brandywine trimmed the host's lead to five twice during the third quarter. Lehigh Valley answered with 10-straight points, extending its lead to 15 points late in the period and Brandywine was not able to muster a fourth quarter rally.
Brandywine (3-6, 3-3 PSUAC) will return from the winter break on Saturday, January 6 when the Lions host Immaculata for a non-conference game at 1:00 PM.
