Mont Alto suffers loss in opening game of Labor Day Classic

Central Penn's continuous offensive pressure paid off in a big way on Friday afternoon, as the Knights outshot Mont Alto 21-7 on their way to a 5-0 win over Mont Alto during day one of the Mont Alto Labor Day Classic.

 

The Knights Jacob Philipe scored the first two goals of his hat trick in the game's opening half with tallies in the 29th and 35th minute. Central Penn took a 2-0 lead into the half.

 

Central Penn would go on to score the game's next three goals when Oscar Flores scored in the 47th minute. Philipe would complete his hat trick with a tally assisted by Flores in the 55th minute. Central Penn pushed the lead to 5-0 when Cameron Odom scored in the 58th minute. The remainder of the second half would go scoreless until Mont Alto's Noah Crescenzi tallied his first collegiate goal in the 72nd minute.

 

Mont Alto will wrap up its Labor Day Classic play on Saturday at 1 pm with a matchup with Christendom.
