Beaver to Enter Conference Play 0-5
The Lions lose their fifth non-conference game in a row to Rio Grande.
Rio Grande, OH - The Lions played their final non-conference game before going into PSUAC Conference play. Beaver took on one of the toughest team's they will face this year, Rio Grande.
The first quarter was really tough for Beaver as Rio Grande came out to score 40 points compared to the Lion's ten. The second quarter was better for Beaver as they held Rio Grande to only scoring 27 points, and were able to put up 14 of their own. The Lions entered half-time down 24-67.
Rio Grande continued to run up the score in the second half, but the Lions were able to put more points on the board. Rio Grande scored only 22 points in the third quarter, and Beaver put up 20 points of their own. This was the most Beaver scored in a quarter the entire game. The fourth quarter of the game proved to be tough for Beaver as they were only able to put up 9 points compared to Rio Grande's 24 points. Beaver traveled home tonight with a 53-113 loss.
In Beaver's efforts tonight, second year Makitah Logan (Pittsburgh, PA) played a great game finishing with 19 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 1 block. Fourth year Kyra Seggewiss (Calgary Alberta, Canada) finished with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, and 5 steals.
Beaver begins conference play this week taking on Penn State Brandywine. This will be the Lions first home game of the year, so be sure to come out and show your support.
