Brandywine Downs Hazleton; Earns Seventh-Straight Win

HAZLETON, Pa. – Penn State Brandywine received goals from seven different scorers as the Lions' men's soccer team recorded its seventh-straight victory by a 10-0 count over Penn State Hazleton on Wednesday night.

Ali Abdelhady (Dubai, UAE/Nord Anglia International School) got the scoring started less than five minutes into the game. Francis Sarpong (Germantown, Md./Southwest) tacked on a marker at the 14:45 mark, while Chris Manful (Baltimore, Md./Woodlawn) netted his first of two goals during the 38th minute. Ajay Darjee (Concord, N.H./Concord) beat the halftime buzzer, sending Brandywine into intermission with a 4-0 edge.

Raymond Kelly (Middletown, Del./Middletown) found the back of the net twice in a span of less than 11 minutes, sandwiched around Kyle Reuter's (York, Pa./Dallastown Area) first goal of the season. Manful added a goal at the 65:51 mark, while Traeger Hogarth (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) recorded the first goal of his college career with 17 minutes left in regulation. Abdelhady scored for the second time to cap the scoring late in regulation.

In addition to having seven goal scorers, Jayden Barragan (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle) assisted on three of the Lions' scores, while Harry Angelis (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) tallied a pair of helpers. Brandywine recorded 19 shots on goal.

Will Manarpaac (Boerne, Texas/Samuel V. Champion) played all 90 minutes in net, recording one save, to earn his third victory of the season.

Brandywine (11-3-2, 4-0-1 PSUAC) opens a three-game home stand on Friday against Christendom (4:00 PM).
