Vero Beach, FL -- Beaver falls to Hagerstown Community College 11-7.
To open their first game of the day, Beaver jumped out to an early one run lead and were able to hold Hagerstown scoreless in the bottom of the inning. Moving into the second, Hagerstown finally answered the offense of the Lions with three runs of their own, making the score 3-1.
Beaver, with hot bats and a little bit of luck, were able to tie the game at four after the first two batters in the third inning were hit by a pitch and then scored as sophomore, Stephen Antolic () hit a three run homerun. Nick Casasanta () kept the rally going as he singled. The Lions luck also continued as the next two batters were put on base after being hit by a pitch and then a walk. With runners in scoring position for the second time in the inning, Ty Cole () hit a sacrifice fly to score Casasanta, giving Beaver a 5-3 lead.
Unfortunately this is where the luck ended for Beaver. In the next three innings they gave up 5 runs, allowing Hagerstown to regain the lead. The Lions would generate a run in both the sixth and seventh innings, but it wasn't enough to outscore the hot bats of Hagerstown who scored 11 runs on 11 hits. Beaver fell by a final score of 11-7.
