Fayette VB starts off strong 2-1 at USCAA Tip Off

Monaca, PA- Fayette Volleyball has good weekend at USCAA Tip off Tournament.

 

Fayette Volleyball had a fantastic weekend at Penn State Beaver for the tip off, finishing with a 2-1 record. 

For the opening match of the season Fayette volleyball downed Paul Smith's College, a top six finisher in the USCAA National Tournament last season. Fayette's victory was in four sets with scores of: 24-26, 25-15, 25-21,25-19. 

Fayette was led by fifth year player, Pasepa Driso-Buwawa with 11 kills, 12 digs and a .308 hitting percentage. Not far behind was Kamden Miller with 8 kills, 10 digs and an outstanding .438 hitting percentage. For assists first year player Rylan Musgrove took the lead with 10 assists and 5 service aces.

The second game of the day Fayette fell short in the fourth set to Kent State at Tuscarawas with scores of: 17-25, 27-25, 20-25, 8-25.

Fayette was led by outside hitter, Kamden Miller with 9 kills and 8 digs. Emma Eckert assisted with 8 assists and 5 digs. 

Saturday, Fayette ended on a high note with a 3-0 win against Christendom College. The scores were: 25-11, 25-23, 25-19.

Adela Blough, a second year student athlete, led the charge with 11 kills, making her finish the match with inspiring .429 hitting percentage. Rylan Musgrove had her second impressive game of the weekend with 14 assists and 11 digs.

Head Coach Anna Tale shared her thoughts on the weekend, "We ended the weekend 2-1. The upperclassmen showed great leadership on the court. I was excited for the freshman stepping up this weekend."

Fayette will continue on the road Saturday, September 9th where they will compete with Butler County Community College for a 1:00 P.M. start.
