Baseball Splits Double Header vs. Penn State Fayette

Lehman, PA - Penn State Wilkes-Barre splits the double header Thursday afternoon against Penn State Fayette. In game one Fayette would jump out to an early 1-0 lead utilzing a pair of singles and a Wilkes-Barre wild pitch. Wilkes-Barre would be able to answer in the bottom of the first picking up two runs on a Eric Gurynski single. In the second inning the momentum would go back into the hands of Fayette as they added six runs on just two hits. Wilkes-Barre would try to cut into the deficit after Fayette picked up a pair of runs in the top of the fifth inning. In the fifth, Francis Brodi would single allowing Kerry Meyers and Michael Delaney to score. Fayette would add another run in the top of the seventh to hold on to win 10-4. In game two, Wilkes-Barre would be first to put runs on the board sending all nine to the plate. In the bottom of the first Wilkes-Barre would score runs on a Francis Brodi and Cahil Carey single and an Eric Adamczyk fielders choice. Fayette would cut into the deficit in the top of the second scoring on a double that allowed two runs to score. In the bottom of the second Wilkes-Barre would respond with a Brodi single up the middle that allowed Kerry Meyers to score. Fayette would take the lead into the seventh, scoring runs in the third and fourth innings. In the bottom of the seventh, Wilkes-Barre would strike for a pair of runs on Adamczyk reaching on a error by Fayette's center fielder and walked off on a Alan Gulbirez walk with the bases loaded.
