Miami Hamilton
Vero Beach, FL - The Baseball team began their season today in Vero Beach, FL for spring training. Day 1 was not in Beaver's favor. Miami Hamilton proved to be a tough opponent keeping Beaver from scoring for the first 7 innings of the game. In those 7 innings, Miami Hamilton scored 14 runs. Beaver finally managed to score 2 runs in the 8th inning, and only gave up 1 run to Miami Hamilton. The last inning of the game went runless. Beaver packed their bags at the end of day 1 losing 15-2 to Miami Hamilton.
Freshman Christopher Cann (Selden, NY) was the player of the game for Beaver getting 1 double off of 2 hits. Freshman Nicholas Campbell (Lewes, DE) and freshman Ernesto Castillo-Platero (Henrico, VA) each scored 1 run for Beaver. Sophomore Aaron Stribling (Hainesport, NJ) managed to get 1 RBI.
Beaver will be back in play for another game today taking on Delta College at 7pm.
Beaver took on Delta College for their second game in day 1 of spring training. The first two innings went runless for both teams. It wasn't until the third inning that Delta College managed to score 2 runs. Beaver however did not get any runs in this inning. Neither team scored any runs again until the sixth inning. Beaver managed to score three runs this inning, but it was not enough as Delta College scored another 3 innings putting them up 2 runs. The last inning of the game went runless and Beaver finished day 1 not winning any games. Delta College left the fields with a 5-3 win over Beaver.
Junior Matthew Cater (Monaca, PA), sophomore Jericho Dela Cruz (Auburn, WA), and sophomore Aaron Stribling (Hainesport, NJ) each scored 1 run for Beaver. Stribling finished the game with 1 run, 1 hit, and 2 RBI out of 3 at bats.
