Baseball Season Ends At PSUAC Tournament

MONT ALTO, Pennsylvania -- Penn State Brandywine saw its baseball season come to an end on Friday morning as the second-seeded Lions were ousted from the PSUAC Tournament by No. 3 Penn State Beaver after falling 7-3 on Friday morning.

Brandywine led 2-0 through four innings, but Beaver fought back with a run in the fifth and six more in the sixth to take the lead.

Gabe Encarnacion's (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) two-out double plated Josh Dellipriscoli (Prospect Park, Pa./Interboro) with Brandywine's first run. One inning later, Dellipriscoli drove in John Gorgone (Ridley, Pa./Ridley) with a base hit to up the Lions' lead to two.

A sacrifice fly put Beaver on the board in the fifth, but Brandywine answered with a run in the bottom of the frame when Tom Osenbach (Newtown Square, Pa./West Chester Christian) singled in Tommy Crumlish (Upper Darby, Pa./Monsignor Bonner).

However, Beaver scored six times, taking advantage of three Brandywine errors in the sixth, and held on for the four-run victory.

Brian Bosco (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven), who pitched 10.0 innings during the tournament, surrendered just one earned run on seven hits in 5.2 innings, but was dealt the loss. Brandywine tallied six hits, but was undone by seven errors in the field.

The Lions finished the season with a 20-15 record, their second consecutive 20-win season.
