Lemont Furnace, PA- Fayette women's basketball has tough loss to Penn State Greater Allegheny.
Greater Allegheny came out strong, leading Fayette 20-8 in the first quarter. However, Fayette rallied back in the second quarter outscoring Greater Allegheny 18-11, but still trailing withing 5 points. Towards the end of the fourth, Fayette's bench was no match for Greater Allegheny's bench, with 20 points to 6 points from players off the bench. Greater Allegheny sealed Fayette's fate with a 61-56 win. Leading for Fayette was Sophia Zalar with 14 points, not far behind was Stephanie Taylor with 12 points and 12 rebounds, along with Abigail Bickerton with 11 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 blocks.
Fayette will hit the road, traveling to Penn State Mont Alto Friday night and Penn State York for Saturday afternoon.
