Playing their third match in 4 days, the Shenango Volleyball Lions fell to Penn State New Kensington in 3 sets on Monday night. Set 1 was a back-and-forth affair with Shenango and New Kensington trading leads until Shenango went on a run to take a 20-15 lead. New Kensington would not be denied, however, going on a 10-2 run and taking the first set. Set 2 had many characteristics of the first. A see-saw battle ultimately saw New Kensington come out on top. The 3rd set was much like the first two…with New Kensington taking the set, winning the match 3-0.

Shenango was paced by Ella Stewart who led the team with 14 assists. Kiara Varion kicked in 6 kills and 16 digs. The Lady Lions hit the road on Thursday, September 21st to head to Carlow for an non-conference matchup.
