Women's Volleyball Back in Win Column Following Clarks Summit Sweep

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – Women's Volleyball Swept NCAA Division III opponent Clarks Summit University on Saturday.

The game began with Clarks Summit taking an early lead, going on a 3-0 run. However, Maddy Robinson (Auburn, PA / Blue Mountain) put an end to Clarks Summit's run with a kill, assisted by Ava Seltzer (Schuylkill Haven, PA / Schuylkill Haven) Clarks Summit continued to press their advantage with another 3-0 run, extending their lead to 6-1. Once again, it was Schuylkill's resilience that shone through as Sydney Morton (Norfolk, VA / Gateway Christian Academy) delivered a kill, assisted once again by Seltzer, halting Clarks Summit's momentum.

Down 11-5, Schuylkill mounted a remarkable comeback, embarking on a 6-0 stretch that saw them claim a one-point lead. Sierra Wishnefsky (Lavelle, PA / North Schuylkill) played a pivotal role during this stretch, delivering two aces for Schuylkill. With the score tied at 20-19 after intense back-and-forth action, Schuylkill surged ahead with a 5-0 run, ultimately securing the first set victory.

The second set began with Clarks Summit once again jumping out to a lead, this time 5-0. However, Schuylkill responded in kind with a 5-0 run of their own, highlighted by two impressive kills from Robinson and an ace from Mahea Kelley (Bowie, MD / Bowie) Late in the set, Schuylkill showcased their dominance, going on an 8-1 run that clinched the second set victory.

With the score oscillating back and forth throughout the final set, Schuylkill continued the trend set by the previous two sets. They embarked on a crucial 9-2 stretch with Tajae Stevenson (Paterson, NJ / John F. Kennedy) and Morton both contributing with two kills each during the run. This final surge allowed Schuylkill to close out Clark Summit University in three sets.

Schuylkill (2-5 overall, 0-3 PSUAC) will play their second game of the day against Word of Life Bible Institute.
