Women's Volleyball Remains Hot, Defeats Penn State Scranton 3-0

DUNMORE, Pa. - Women's Volleyball returned to PSUAC play on Wednesday night against Penn State Scranton. Schuylkill defeated Scranton in three sets.

Schuylkill raced to an early 6-0 lead in the first set. Despite Scranton's valiant efforts to narrow the gap, Schuylkill continued to dominate, unleashing a relentless 17-point streak, propelled by an impressive combination of six aces and four kills.

The second set began with Schuylkill maintaining a slight advantage with a score of 5-4 before going on a 9-0 run that extended their lead to ten. Schuylkill rode the momentum and claimed the second set victory.

The third set started with a tie score of 4-4, but once again, Schuylkill showcased their prowess by launching a stunning 16-0 run before claiming their third sweep in three contests.

Maddy Robinson (Auburn, PA / Blue Mountain) tallied a game-high 16 aces and 5 assists for Schuylkill. Sydney Morton (Norfolk, VA / Gateway Christian Academy) led Schuylkill with 8 kills, finishing with a kill percentage of .727. Ava Seltzer (Schuylkill Haven, PA / Schuylkill Haven) totaled 6 assists and 4 kills (.800) in the victory.

Schuylkill (4-5 overall, 1-3 PSUAC) will play their next three contests at home, starting with Penn State Hazleton this Saturday at 12:30.
