Brandywine Rolls Through Mont Alto To Clinch No. 1 Seed In PSUAC Tournament

MONT ALTO, Pa. – The Penn State Brandywine men's soccer team scored early and often as the Lions locked up the No. 1 seed in the Penn State University Athletic Conference Tournament by defeating Penn State Mont Alto 9-0 in the regular-season finale on Saturday afternoon.

Mikey Dunham (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey) got the scoring started just 7:46 into the first half off a feed from Jayden Barragan (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle). Four minutes later, Chris Manful (Baltimore, Md./Woodlawn) doubled the lead to 2-0.

Dunham assisted on Christian Zavala's (Kennett Square, Pa./Kennett) marker during the 24th minute, while Barragan scored at the 28:37 mark to make the count 4-0 at halftime.

Manful found the back of the net for the second time early in the second half and added an assist on Barragan's second goal during the 64th minute. Kyle Reuter (York, Pa./Dallastown Area) also tallied a second-half goal for the Lions before assisting on Barragan's third goal of the day at the 66:06 mark.

Harry Angelis (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) provided the final margin with a goal during the last minute of regulation.

Brandywine goalkeeper Will Manarpaac (Boerne, Texas/Samuel V. Champion) earned his sixth victory and fourth shutout by stopping both shots he faced. Brandywine recorded 29 shots, putting 18 on target.

Brandywine (15-3-2, 7-0-1 PSUAC) will host a PSUAC Tournament semifinal on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 2:00 PM.
