Beaver Drops Final Varsity Game of Spring Trip
Lions fall 6-2 to U. Conn. Avery Point
Vero Beach, FL -- Beaver loses to U. Conn Avery Point in their final varsity contest of spring break.
In their second game of the afternoon, Beaver fell behind early, 2-0, but they quickly rallied. In their first at bat, after moving runners into scoring position, senior, Derek Bozic (Beaver Falls, PA / Beaver Falls) hit a 2 RBI single to tie the game before the last out of the inning.
Despite a defense that only gave up two errors through the next 5 innings, the Lions found themselves down 6 runs by the end of the sixth inning and weren't able to even generate a base runner in the seventh.
Beaver fell by a final score of 6-2, ending their week in Florida winless.
Bozic and Blaise McCarty (Beaver Falls, PA / Riverside) were the two players credited with hits in the game. The Lions look to improve upon their record when they return home and face Grove City College at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15th.
