MEDIA, Pa. -- Ursinus scored twice in a span of 27 seconds early in the second half and later added a third goal as the Bears defeated the Penn State Brandywine women's soccer team 3-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
Brandywine goalkeeper Emily Bush (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) kept the Lions in the game by stopping 10 first-half shots to sustain a 0-0 count at the break.
Morgan Raley and Kelly Gardus provided back-to-back tallies to break the scoreless tie with the first score coming at the 55:05 mark. Skylar Knapp added an insurance goal with under 30 minutes to play.
Bush stopped two more shots, giving her 12 saves for the game, her second double-figure save performance of the season.
Brianna Banks (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Center) produced three of Brandywine's four shots, including an attempt that bounced just wide, which would have given the Lions the lead early in the second half.
Brandywine (0-4) returns home Saturday to host New Jersey City at 1:00 pm.
