PSUAC Basketball All-Conference Awards Announced

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State University Athletic Conference men's and women's basketball All-Conference awards have been announced as nearly 70 student-athletes garnered recognition for their academic and athletic achievements during the 2019-20 season.

Men's basketball was headlined by divisional Players of the Year Andy Kwiatkowski (Penn State Hazleton, East Division) and Quintyn Flemister (Penn State Mont Alto, West Division), while the women's side saw players from each of the top seeds pull in the highest honor. Penn State Brandywine's Nikki Velez grabbed Player of the Year honors in the East while Diamond Thomas of Penn State Beaver was the top player in the West. Each Player of the Year was also selected to the First Team in their respective division.

Velez took home the most recognition, sharing East Defensive Player of the Year honors with Penn State Lehigh Valley's Ebony Sanders, while also being selected as Brandywine's John Fritz Sportsmanship Award winner. Beaver's Jimya Chambers was the West's Defensive Player of the Year.

The men's Defensive Players of the Year were Penn State York's Johnathon Gillespie in the East, while Penn State Fayette's Iman Young took home the West honor. JR Powe of Mont Alto (West) and Tariq Meredith of Penn State Schuylkill (East) were the men's Rookie's of the Year.

Jessica Charles of Penn State Wilkes-Barre (East) and Penn State DuBois' Malliah Schreck (West) were the women's Rookie's of the Year.

Beaver's Tim Moore, who returned to the conference after a brief hiatus, earned PSUAC Coach of the Year honors on the women's side while Mont Alto's Jack Schenzel received the award for the men.
