Greater Allegheny sophomore Rachael Maiden has been named this week's PSUAC Student-Athlete of the Week for women's soccer as a goalkeeper. Maiden guarded the net for Greater Allegheny in their final two games of the regular season. Saturday, Rachael posted her second shutout of the season, as the GA Lions overcame Penn State Mont Alto, 2-0. Maiden faced five shots on goal. On the second half of the Penn State University Athletic Conference weekend, Maiden led her team to a 2-2 double-overtime draw over Penn State Brandywine. The sophomore faced nine shots on goal, stopping seven. Through the 200 minute weekend, Rachael stopped 12 shots for a save percentage of 85.7%.
With her 1-0-1 weekend, Rachael earned herself the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Women's Soccer Goalie of the Week honor. Click here to read the full release.
