Banks, Yakymov Have Stellar Weeks to Headline Players of the Week

Here are this week's Players of the Week! This week we recognize nine student-athletes from five campuses for their outstanding performances on the court or field.

All individual award winner's announcement can also be found on their respective sport pages and in Player of the Week archives.

PSUAC Players of the Week are nominated by their individual campus and selected by the conference office from a list of nominees. Click on the award winners name for their full POTW profile!

Max Shugerman, Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week

Max Shugerman ran in the PSU Mont Alto Invitational on Saturday and ran a season best time of 31:11 in the 8K race, finishing ninth overall. Shugerman's time also placed him fourth among PSUAC competitors at the event.

Brinn DeAngelo, Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

DeAngelo finished fourth at the PSU Mont Alto Invitational on Saturday, clocking a time of 30:08 on the 6K course, finishing second among PSUAC competitors at the event. Her performance helped her team place first at the event.

Jeremy Harper, Golfer of the Week

Harper finished tied for first at the PSUAC Blue Course Invitational, carding a 2-over par 74 on a windy day. His score helped lead Hazleton to a team championship as well, winning the tiebreaker with Penn State Schuylkill to take the crown.

Zachary Ritz, Men's Goalie of the Week

Ritz recorded his second shutout of the season after turning away the only shot he faced in a 3-0 win over Mont Alto on Saturday. He now has two shutouts in as many starts and has not yielded a goal in four games overall in net.

Danylo Yakymov, Men's Soccer Player of the Week

Yakymov helped lead Penn State Beaver to a 2-0 record last week, recording three goals and three assists. Yakymov produced both game-winning goals for the Lions, including two goals in a 5-3 victory over Penn State Scranton. His three assists against Penn State Lehigh Valley propelled Beaver to a 6-1 win, improving Beaver to 3-3 on the season and 2-0 in the PSUAC.

Megan Bartley, Women's Soccer Goalie of the Week

Bartley helped Penn State Beaver finish 1-1 last week, notching six saves in a 1-0 loss to Penn State Scranton before shutting out Penn State Lehigh Valley on Sunday.

Brianna Banks, Women's Soccer Player of the Week

Banks continued her scoring touch, recording eight goals in two matches last week. She nearly brought Brandywine back from a two-goal deficit at Washington Adventist, scoring five times in a 6-5 loss. On Saturday, Banks scored all three of the Lions' goals in a 3-1 win at Mont Alto. The three goals pushed her past 200 career points, making her one of just two active players at any level of women's college soccer with 200 or more points.

Heaven Bowman, Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week

Bowman picks up her second Player of the Week award, tallying 74 digs in two matches over the past week. Bowman's best day came against Carlow when she accumulated 58 digs in a four-set loss to Carlow University. She picked up 16 digs as Beaver swept Penn State Greater Allegheny to help them improve to 3-2 in the PSUAC.

Noel Kaufman, Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week

Kaufman helped power Schuylkill to 1st place in the PSUAC East, as the Lions went 3-0 with wins over Penn State Brandywine, Hazleton and Wilkes Barre. Kaufman also helped Schuylkill pick up a win over Washington Adventist, and tallied double digit kills in three of the four matches she played in. Her high came against Hazleton, with 18 kills while she racked up 15 against Brandywine.
